GAPS Between Plans and Actions

GAPs between planning and execution occur for many reasons. Communication GAPs often occur because no one is willing to ask some hard questions. An outside perspective can introduce challenging questions to unseat the elephant in the room and open up discussion, which is an absolutely necessary step to gain participation and commitment to a plan.

A GAP between your vision statement and available resources can make your Strategic Plan little more than wishful thinking.

Project GAPs occur when your Strategic Plans and Tactical Objectives are misaligned or out of balance.

Creating good marketing content has always been hard work, and AI has increased the complexity. I recommend combining digital and print channels to ensure your message is understood.

This famous quote from the movie Cool Hand Luke describes the communication gap we have all experienced. We felt we had expressed ourselves clearly, but later discovered that we hadn’t.

A classic example is a disconnect between sales and design: Sales expresses what they believe the customer wants, while design (R&D, engineering) responds based on what they think is technically feasible.

As a consultant, I work with managers to spot, resolve, and prevent communication GAPs.

Sometimes an outside perspective is needed

It is hard to build consensus when there are so many points of view.

How can ZOA Consulting help?
